Your hosts, Elizabeth and Derek Scott have been providing Bed and Breakfast accommodation in East Calder for over 43 years, and extend the same warm Scottish welcome as always to guests from near and far.
Ashcroft is a modern tastefully decorated Farmhouse, with co-ordinating fabrics complementing the smart pine furnishings. There is central heating throughout, and all guests rooms, including the bedrooms, are on the ground floor. |

The five acre Ashcroft Farm is surrounded by countryside and yet is only 10 miles from Edinburgh City Centre, providing the perfect setting for a peaceful break or a busy golfing, sightseeing or touring holiday. Guests can avoid the hassle of city parking problems by busing the regular bus service, which stops at our main gate, and be in the heart of Edinburgh within half an hour. A frequent train service to the City is also within easy reach.

THE LOUNGE
We have a separate lounge with library where guests can relax as they please or wind down after a hectic day. In the lounge there is also a colour T.V. and video, plus a video library with recent films for you to view. |
BEDROOMS
All of our bedrooms, comprising two family, three twin and one double bedroom with four poster bed, have en-suite facilites, and are furnished to the highest standard to guarantee a comfortable and relaxing stay. Each room has remote control colour TV and a hospitality tray with tea, coffee and shortbread. Fresh fluffy towels every day and complimentary toiletries provide the special touches our guests expect.
The bedrooms are named after world famous Scottish Championship golf courses, so you can enjoy an evening in St. Andrews, Gleneages, Muirfield, Turnberry, Dalmahoy or Royal Troon without leaving the house! |
 | DININGROOM |
In keeping with this golfing theme, our spacious 19th Hole has a fine collection of golf memorabilia on display, and each table is named after a corresponding bedroom.
Early morning tea is available before guests are tempted with a choice of breakfasts, including smoked salmon, kippers and other fine Scottish fare. Alternatively, as a retired Master Butcher, Derek's homemade sausage (to his own secret recipe of course!) makes the traditional full Scottish Breakfast, rounded off with some whisky marmalade on toast, a real tasty start to the day. |
THEGARDEN
Behind the guest house you will discover our beautifully landscaped and spacious garden which is available for picnics and alfresco dining, or for simply relaxing in peace and quiet after the 'hustle and bustle' of your day. |
