Welcome to Skegness.

For those who haven't visited before, think of Blackpool and think of West Wittering; you will find elements of both in this bustling traditional yet modern seaside resort with its miles of sandy beach and calm clean sea.

Beyond the busy, lifeguard patrolled family beach and the traditional seaside attractions you will find a wilder, unspoilt expanse of foreshore under the famed 'big sky' of Lincolnshire, where you can walk in peace for miles, admiring the abundance of plant and birdlife, as well as views across the wash to the coast of Norfolk.

The visitor centre at Gibraltar Point nature reserve has a wealth of information and viewing facilities for serious bird watchers and country-lovers.

The reserve is also easily reached by road. Gibraltar Road is a continuation of Drummond Road, which runs right into the centre of town. Auntie Ruth's Guest House in Drummond Road is therefore ideally situated for town, country and seafront, amazing as it might seem.

Pets are welcome with open arms and invited to make themselves at home with their owners, at no extra cost. For dogs, of course, there is wonderful walking country just yards away.

The attractions of Skegness in summer are abundant, but great-value shopping is available all year round and in winter there is a desolate beauty about the East Coast and the timeless but ever-changing landscape of the Wash.

After a brisk walk in the bracing winter temperatures, Auntie Ruth's house is a haven of warmth, comfort and welcome. As one guest jokingly put it "If Al Qaeda ever come to Skegness, we should send them straight to Auntie Ruth's - they will be so cosy, well-fed and relaxed, they won't want to venture out again and will simply forget their original mission!"

Do come and see for yourself before long: the Fenlands have a strange beauty and charm unmatched in any other part of Britain, while Skegness has everything you could possibly want in a resort. Call Auntie Ruth now on
