BARN COTTAGE Bed and Breakfast is just off the beaten track in a tiny, rural hamlet. Woolminstone is on the hillside in an AONB overlooking Dorset's highest hills, a couple of miles south of CREWKERNE, South Somerset.Although Barn Cottage is up a very quiet, rural farm lane, the local towns and attractions of East Devon, West Dorset and Somerset are so easy to get to by car or bike.

There is also a "country" bus service along the road at the bottom of the lane and Crewkerne BR railway station is three miles away.

Accommodation

BARN COTTAGE offers luxurious and extremely comfortable en-suite accommodation with those little extras to ensure your stay is comfortable.
At Barn Cottage, both King and Twin bedrooms are light, fresh, sunny, very comfortably furnished and serviced daily. Both rooms have a comprehensive and appetising hospitality tray including a variety of teas, coffee, hot choc, biscuits, filtered chilled water and fresh milk. Essential glasses and corkscrew. TV/DVD and DVD's folders in both rooms. Hair dryer, fluffy towels and luxurious pots and potions in the bathroom. Binoculars to watch the local wild life and birds. Iron and ironing board available on request
Lewesdon Room : The spacious DOUBLE en-SUITE room has a King size bed with pocketed spring mattress, en suite facilities has a large shower cubicle. Colour TV/DVD player and folder of DVD's. It has triple aspect windows with panoramic views North, South and West.
Pilsden Room : The charming TWIN en-SUITE room which has a partially sloping ceiling, has an en-suite large quadrant shower. Twin beds (one metre wide) with pocketed spring mattresses, TV/DVD, and folder of DVD's. It has panoramic views south.

Double room per night for TWO including breakfast is £55.00
Twin room per night for TWO including breakfast is £50.00
Stays over 3 nights double occupancy attract a 10% discount.
Double room per night for ONE including breakfast is £35.00
Twin room per night for ONE including breakfast is £30.00
Minimum stay for single occupancy is usually two nights.

Breakfast

A hearty, well cooked breakfast using local and mostly organic ingredients, is served in the dining room, where French Doors and windows look out over lovely gardens and farm land. A real treat for bird and animal lovers! Eat out on the patio in good weather.
At Barn Cottage, breakfast is usually served between 8.00 and 9.30 but earlier starts are no problem.
Breakfast ingredients are locally sourced and most are organic and local or home grown.
The jams and marmalade are home made from home and local produce.
A variety of "alternative" breakfasts are always on offer including vegetarian options.
Light suppers and packed lunches are available on request.

Local Area

BARN COTTAGE Bed and Breakfast is enviably positioned for exploring, walking, biking and visiting the area.It is centrally set in a tranquil "hidden area" on the South Somerset borders with Dorset and Devon, surrounded by hills, country lanes and organic farms and with fabulous views out over Dorset's highest hills.
The Jurassic Coastline at Lyme Regis and Bridport / West Bay, is within a half hour drive as are numerous National Trust Properties and Gardens, beautiful small "Golden Stone" villages (and pubs!) and thriving market towns including CREWKERNE and YEOVIL. Business guests are most welcome.
Children are welcome but please call to discuss your needs before booking with children.
If the weather turns nasty, washing / drying facilities readily available and for walkers along the local long distance paths, "pick up / drop off" can readily be arranged.
Regretfully NO pets.
No smoking in the house. Smoking only in the garden.
Check in usually after 3pm and check out usually before 11.00 unless prior arrangements have been made.
