The Bear Hotel is a delightful 16th century hotel located in the beautiful Market Place of Devizes. Under its new owners (who have over 50 years of hotel experience between them) The Bear has undergone a massive refurbishment program which was completed in spring 2006. All 25 bedrooms have been furnished to a very high standard, far superior to the 3 star AA rating. All have en-suite facilities, 20" flat screen TV, Movies on Demand, Broadband, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee facilities.

The Bear boasts The Lambton's Restaurant open for dinner and Sunday lunch, The Lawrence Room serving very reasonably priced lunches all freshly prepared 7 days a week, three bars including the newly opened "Jazz at the Bear" in the 14th century Cellar Bar with live Jazz every Friday (call the hotel for details of forthcoming bands). A beautiful Mediterranean style courtyard has also been added to the hotel in 2004.

The Ballroom Suite has also been refurbished to an extremely high standard and now provides some of the best facilities in the south west. It is suitable for weddings and parties for up to 110 people, and decorated in National Trust colours with elegant chandeliers and wall lights. The Ballroom Bar and Ante Room join together to make this a wonderful suite of function rooms. We also have a civil wedding license with 9 areas licensed within the hotel. Private car park available.
