15th Century Tudor style coach house, situated on the valley downs. The property is approximately 15 minutes by car from Canterbury, 15 minutes from Ashford and 20 minutes from the Channel Tunnel.

The property is set in 5 acres of the North Downs, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with magnificent views of the valley and the adjoining Nature Reserve, known for its wild life.

The house has many architectural features, including Oak King posts, a Minstrel Gallery and large Inglenook fireplace.

There are three guest bedrooms, all well furnished and with elegant bed linen. The rooms have many interesting features including oak beams. Each bedroom has its own unique style and all are equipped with TV, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers. Ironing facilities are also available on request. The rooms available are as follows:

The Tudor Room

The Tudor Room is an attractively decorated room with en suite and is heavily beamed with a pitch pine floor. It is furnished with a 4' 6" four poster bed and antique wardrobe. The bathroom is well equipped and has a shower and an antique oak and marble vanity washbasin unit with mirror.

The Champagne Room

The Champagne Room is a delightful bright and sunny room tastefully furnished with the benefit of a 4' 6" bed and 3' bed. This room also has an antique oak and tile vanity washbasin unit with mirror and has its own shower room.

The Gallery Room

The Gallery Room is a very pretty room heavily beamed with pine double bed and pine furnishings. The en suite has a shower, pine fittings, tiled floor and one window over looking the beautiful valley and countryside. The Gallery Room is situated next to the Minstrel Gallery with a window overlooking the garden and Nature Reserve.

The Garden which is surrounded by magnificent views has a very large play area with badminton facilities for the more energetic. The large garden has the benefit of free range chickens and ducks and ponies in the paddocks.

Breakfast is served in the elegant double ended Victorian conservatory each room is allocated its own table and guests have the benefit of magnificent views of the garden and the valley beyond from the conservatory whilst taking a leisurely breakfast.

Prices are inclusive of a full English breakfast and service. Continental breakfast is available in request.

PRICES ARE ON A PER NIGHT BASIS

A very substantial English breakfast is provided consisting of:

Fruit juice, fresh rolls, cereals, eggs (fried, scrambled or poached), bacon, sausage, tomatoes/beans, toast, marmalade/jams & tea or coffee.

The proprietor holds a certificate in food hygiene and the handling of food.

Foreign tourists are most welcome - some French spoken. The Beech Bank is non-smoking establishment.

Directions

From the West

Leave the M20 at junction 11 and follow the B2068. Continue along this road for about 4 miles, passing a garage on the right and a pub on the left. After passing the Stonegate Egg Farm on the left, take the left turn signposted to Hastingleigh. Continue on this road, down the hill and follow the right fork to the T junction. Turn right following the lane passing the triangle on the left. You will find Beech Bank about half a mile on the right.

From Canterbury

Follow the signs for Kent County Cricket Ground on the Old Dover Road or New Dover Road. Turn into the Old Dover Road and after passing the cricket ground on the right, take the turning right to Hythe on the B2068. Continue on this road for about 2 ½ miles, passing a public house on the left called The Granille. After a sharp left hand bend, take the turning right into Petham.Drive through the village past black & white beamed house on left, as road bears right turn left into Duckpitt Road past telephone box on left. Follow straight for 2 miles and you will find Beech Bank on the left after the Ansdore turning.
