'Blenheim Lodge . . . panoramic lake views, peace and tranquillity, nestled against 50 acres of beautiful National Park in the heart of the English Lake District.'

You are assured of friendly hospitality and a personal touch in our lovely family home! We welcome YOU!

Welcome to our Guest House

Nestled against 50 acres of National Park woodlands and overlooking Lake Windermere and Old Bowness, Blenheim Lodge boasts panoramic views of the Lake, mountains and fells beyond. Whether you are travelling en-route, on business, a tourist or simply desiring a quiet retreat, you will find a comfortable base in our friendly family home.

Built in 1868 of solid Lakeland stone, Blenheim Lodge has 11 bedrooms, 10 with en-suite and one with private facilities. Each room has tea and coffee-making facilities, colour T.V. with remote control, and access to hair dryers. Rooms are available for double, single, twin and family accommodation on the ground, first and second floors of our home. Each room is individually appointed, many with pieces of painted French antique furniture like those you may see in glossy lifestyle magazines.

Rooms

The Langdale room has panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. You can sit on the antique chaise longue in the huge triple bay windows and admire the glorious spectacular views. There is an antique four poster and other lovely antique furniture.

Decorated in Laura Ashley colours and soft furnishings, the Fairfield room has a wonderful Louis XV suite, with a large king-sized 5' bed and a comfortable Dunlopillow mattress. An antique iron daybed set in the triple bay windows offers an irresistible resting place to enjoy the stunning lake and mountain views.

The Dalesway room is a romantic French boudoir decorated in Laura Ashley colours and soft furnishings. The antique furniture in this room includes a fabulous Louis XV double bed with roccoco details and a daybed with its original paint and decoration intact, complemented by pretty French wall lights with crystal drops. The Dalesway overlooks the National Park from bay windows, creating an 'away from it all' feeling amidst beautiful countryside. If you are lucky, you will see the wild deer grazing from the windows.

Or enjoy your beauty sleep in our stunning solid antiqued brass bed from the up market bed shop, And So To Bed. An imposing piece of furniture, this bed has a bespoke pocket sprung mattress set by Relyon and is ultra comfortable! A pretty room decorated with Laura Ashley colours and soft furnishings, The Blue Room has pretty French painted antique furniture, including two dainty chairs set in the single bay window from which you can see the Lake.

Situated on the same floor, with views to the north of Lake Windermere, is a small cozy room, decorated with striking Laura Ashley colours and soft furnishings. There are some pieces of antique furniture and lighting in this room with a romantically styled white-painted iron bed from Feather and Black. Soak in the en-suite bath (there is a shower too) . . . and relax. These rooms are particularly accessible to people who prefer ground floor accommodation.

Lounge

If you are visiting with friends or family, or simply wish to enjoy the welcoming warmth of our fireplace, why not use our lounge where you can enjoy a cozy chat or curl up on the sofa with a good book? (We have a small library.) Our lounge overlooks the Lake and there you can sit in the bay windows and enjoy a lovely cup of tea, or a nice glass of wine. We can even offer you some hot chocolate in the lounge if you ask!

Breakfast

At Blenheim Lodge, we offer a breakfast menu which includes vegetarian options. We use quality local produce, including handmade sausages and hand cut bacon. Our milk and eggs are delivered fresh from the dairy each morning: the milk is still bottled and comes the old fashioned way - topped with cream; our eggs are large and have that tasty, yolky flavour from orangey yolks. We also offer a choice of home-baked, fresh from the oven croissants served with equally delectable muffins.

Vicinity and Situation of Guest House

Blenheim Lodge may feel 'far from the madding crowd', being quietly situated as it is at the end of a cul-de-sac and against acres of National Park Land, but if you enjoy the hustle and bustle of town, we are only 2-5 minutes' walk from the shops, restaurants, pubs, local tourist attractions and other amenities, such as banks, post office, beauty salons, etc. The Lake and pier are 5-7 minutes' walk from us as are the bus stops. We also offer free private country club membership at a nearby leisure club just 7 minutes' walk from us. There, you can enjoy the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym, squash and badminton courts, table tennis, pool and snooker tables in the lounge bar, solarium and other beauty treatments, which we can help you arrange.

Acitivities

Blenheim Lodge is great for people who enjoy activities. We have the Dales Way walk practically ending in our backyard (literally a half minute's walk from our front door!) and we are the first guest house you would come to as you finish walking the Dales Way. Three view points are just 10-20 minutes' walk from us, one of which boasts 360-degree views of beautiful Lakeland countryside to Lake Windermere. Many tired walkers embrace the comforts of our home when they arrive to be greeted with a welcome mug of tea or coffee and biscuits and a soak in the bath for tired feet! We have outside taps for boots and a drying room for damp footwear, clothes and jackets.

Blenheim Lodge is also cyclist and biker friendly, with some private level parking for bicycles and motorcycles. For the fisherman, we offer two free fishing permits in the Windermere and Ambleside areas on a first come first served basis. However, guests wishing to fish using these permits must have their own rod licences and their own tackle. We are golfer friendly and can help to organize a game of golf for you. We can also help you organize sightseeing tours or guided country walks that will pick you up from our door. Close by you can enjoy golfing lessons, horseback riding, yachting and boating too.

A Quality Service

At Blenheim Lodge, we believe in offering a quality service and that extra personal touch! So why not come and visit with us for a few days or more (we have fantastic weekly rates), park in our private car park and hang up your keys, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the English Lakes, and forget the stresses of everyday life? And if you are celebrating a special occasion, we can arrange flowers, wine, champagne and luxury handmade chocolate truffles in your room for your arrival.

Come and visit with us. Slip between clean, crisp white sheets, snuggle under soft, fluffy Norwegian duvets; and listen - to the sound of silence! Then snooze off, and wake up refreshed to the beauty of birdsong!

Come as guests; return as friends.
We look forward to welcoming You!
