Blue Hayes Private Hotel, St Ives

Blue Hayes was built in 1922 by a Professor Whitnall, who was apparently a good friend of Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales, and has been run as a small private hotel since 1965. It is set in its own grounds on Porthminster Point, overlooking St Ives Bay and Harbour, with its own car parking facilities, and above one of the finest sandy beaches in the country - just a few minutes walk along the coastal path, from the bottom of the garden.

The Lounge Bar and Dining Room both have French doors opening onto the terrace, where you will be able to sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with magnificent views over St Ives Bay and harbour and return later to enjoy an early evening drink, before visiting one of the many excellent restaurants in the town. Alternatively you may wish to linger on the terrace or in the dining Room with a light supper and a good bottle of wine.

A two year rebuild and refurbishment was completed in December 2002. Furniture, furnishings and fittings have been totally replaced. The whole re-design is based upon maintaining and enhancing the character and period of the property to optimize its magnificent position overlooking the Bay and to provide a higher standard of accommodation and elegant relaxation.

All bedrooms have been enlarged and totally re-equipped with full en-suite facilities to provide five luxury rooms as follows.

Master Suite - with French doors opening onto a balcony overlooking St Ives Bay and harbour. Located on the first floor. Four poster bed. Large en-suite facilities including bath, separate shower and WC.

Godrevy Suite - with sea views over the Bay. Located on the second floor. Extra large room. Double or twin beds. Full en-suite facilities including bath/shower and WC.

Bay Suite - with sea views over the bay. Located on second floor. Double or twin beds. Full en-suite facilities including bath, separate shower and WC.

Garden Suite - with garden views, located at the garden level. Double or twin beds. Full en-suite facilities including bath, separate shower and WC. French doors opening on to the garden and seating area.

Trelyon Suite - with garden views, located on the second floor. Double or twin beds. Full en-suite facilities including bath/shower and WC. French doors opening onto a roof garden and balcony with sea and woodland views.

Tariff

The following rates are £ sterling per person per night (including VAT) to cover Room and Breakfast based upon two people sharing any room. There are no service charges.
