Other accommodation near Bournemouth
Bournemouth lies in Dorset on the south coast of England. It is almost intertwined with Poole and Christchurch and together they have more than 300,000 residents.
Being on the coast has turned Bournemouth into one of the largest tourist attractions on the UK seafront. In 2007 the population of Bournemouth thought it was the happiest place to live in Britain, but in 2008 this was exchanged for a mesmerising 152th place on the list. A good reason to like Bournemouth is the lack of rain compared to the rest of the UK. Only half the annual normal rainfall will be spotted here.
The infrastructure of Bournemouth is easy to get to know if you visit as you will have 11km of beach to content with and just behind it you will find the major shopping streets. Just after this you will come to The Square, which is the main centre of the town. In the shopping area you will find all the tourist shops and main street shops you can want and located just outside of these areas are the major British supermarkets.
Over the last few years Blackpool had become one of the gay capitals in Europe with its annual gay festival called "Bourne Free". If you are more into air shows then the annual air show will provide you with a lot of excitement as you could be watching a demonstration from the Red Arrows. If you have got a taste of heights after this show you might want to try out the "Bournemouth Eye" This is a hot air balloon on a steel cable that will go up to 390ft in the air and give its spectators a panoramic few for miles and miles. It will probably be advertised as going 500ft in the air, but because of regulations this is only the top of the balloon. As the balloon is 110ft high the passengers will only go up to 390ft or so. After this adrenaline rush you might want to calm down and wander the Jurrasic Coast. A stretch of nearly 160km of beach which has become a World Heritage Site just a few years ago.
