 | We are situated a short walk from the beautiful Plymouth Hoe, the traffic free city centre, Theatre Royal and Plymouth Pavilions. The Plymouth University campus is a 10 minute walk. The historic Barbican area with it's abundance of cafés, restaurants and night life is an attractive 15 minute walk. We are a two minute drive from the Continental Ferry port and are close to both the mainline railway station and the bus station. Whether visiting Plymouth on business or to enjoy a holiday break everyone at the Brittany will do all they can to ensure your stay is enjoyable.
ABOUT US The Britany is personally run by it's resident owners who take great care to ensure your stay will be both comfortable and enjoyable. All rooms are ensuite and tastefully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the larger rooms all have King size beds. All the rooms include; Flat screen Digital Televisions with integrated DVD players. Complimentary tea, fruit tea, coffee, chocolate & biscuits (fresh milk available). Co-ordinated range of quality toiletries. High quality white bed linen. Hairdryers in all rooms. Full central heating.
IRONING facilities are provided on each landing and the larger rooms have their own ironing boards and irons.
PARKING - Our private car park located at the rear of the building has six spaces. If there is a space when you arrive you are most welcome to use it. Please note though that the car park is on a 'first come first serve basis' at all times. The Hoe is a residential area and good on street parking is available at the front of the building. For the very reasonable sum of £2.00 you can park on the road for up to 24 hours. Guests with mobility problems who have a badge can park on the road for free.
BREAKFAST - Enjoy your breakfast in our attractive dining room. Our extensive menu includes; Fresh fruit, grapefruit, prunes, wide selection of cereals, orange juice, apple juice and Yoghurts. then Full Breakfast - Free Range Egg, Grilled Bacon, Pork Sausage, Griddled Bread, Grilled Tomato, Baked Beans. or Vegetarian Breakfast - Free Range Egg, Vegetarian Sausages, Griddled bread, Grilled Tomato, Baked Beans, Hash Brown. or Free Range Eggs On Toast- Fried, Scrambled, Poached, Boiled. or Continental Breakfast - Two fresh baked all butter croissants served with strawberry preserve. then Tea, Filter Coffee, Toast & Marmalade
We always use Free Range Eggs and wherever possible only use locally sourced produce from trusted suppliers.
THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN THE LOCAL AREA Plymouth has a wealth of interesting places to see and none more so than the historic Barbican. It will take you five minutes to walk to this enchanting part of the city, where bustling cobbled streets surround a picturesque harbour. It is here you will find the National Marine Aquarium, the Barbican Glassworks and the Mayflower Centre. Along with a delightful selection of antique, craft and gift shops.
We are a two minute walk from both the Theatre Royal & Plymouth Pavilions, and only 750yds from Brittany Ferries. The Railway and coach stations are also nearby and the Barbican leisure park(Warner village) is less than a mile away. HMS Raleigh is only 3 miles by car.
A short drive inland and you will discover the breathtaking beauty of Dartmoor National Park, where you will find peace and tranquility in one of the finest areas of unspoilt wild moor land the country has to offer. Alternatively a short drive along the coast and you will find some of the most spectacular coastal scenery and unspoilt beaches anywhere in England. The Eden Project is just over an hour away by car.
When it comes to dining out the choice is endless; the Barbican is where you will find some of Plymouths finest restaurants, many serving fish fresh from the Quay, alternatively there are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity.We have tried most of them! So if you'd like some suggestions we'd be pleased to help. In fact we are more than happy to help with any queries you might have about Plymouth and the surrounding area.
Directions to the Brittany Guest House From the A38 follow the city centre signs A374. After approximately 3 miles you will see a pub called "The First and Last" on your left, move into the left-hand lane (take 2nd left) and follow the brown signs for the "Pavilions". You will come to a mini roundabout, turn left then follow thus road (through 6 sets of traffic lights) until you find yourself at some traffic lights with a pub on the left called "The Walrus". Turn left here and we are at the top of the road on the left-hand side.
