There are many pleasant walks, a small fishing lake which guests are welcome to use either for fishing or to enjoy the varied bird and plant life; a lovely spot for a picnic.
For those wanting a longer walk, there is easy access to the Grand Union Canal which is opposite the cottage or Ashridge, a large area of National Trust Woodland.
There is a wealth of places to visit, from beautiful stately homes such as Waddesdon Manor to the fun of Legoland and many, many more.

The cottage has been completely refurbished, and comprises of a quarry-tiled kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Washing up at the sink, you will overlook the field with walnut trees that give the cottage its name. There is a large utility room adjoining the kitchen with washing machine/tumble dryer.

The kitchen has an archway through to a large lounge with open fireplace and French doors leading onto the south facing back garden. There is an attractive patio with picnic table for a sunny breakfast, a relaxing lunch or a barbecue supper (barbecue provided). Books, games, a small selection of children's videos and plenty of local information, suggestions of places to visit, including directions, are available.

The payphone is in the hall, which also has a cloakroom and toilet.

The stairs lead up to three bedrooms - one double and two twins - all attractively decorated. Two look out onto the back garden and fields and the third on the front has far reaching views to the other side of the valley.

Also upstairs is a newly fitted bathroom with power shower over the bath, basin and heated towel rail. There is a separate toilet and large airing cupboard.

London is half an hour by either road or main line rail service. Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton airports are all easily accessible.

Alternatively, our position on the border of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire offers some beautiful countryside to enjoy. The Chiltern landscape, famous for its beech woods, is criss-crossed with footpaths leading to the many picturesque villages. The area also has many sites of historic interest dating from Roman times and including Berkhamsted Castle where William the Conqueror was offered the crown of England.
