Once a workhouse and now a beautiful country house hotel, Brynafon has great character and charm.
Brynafon is set against the dramatic backdrop of Gwastedyn Hill and the Druid's Circle and is a stone's throw from the river Wye. Sitting in very heart of the beautiful and yet still undiscovered Elan Valley, Brynafon is a must to visit any time of the year. We can arrange horse riding, cycling, fly- fishing and clay pigeon shooting to complement your stayElon Valley is just down the road, a must for all hikersbird watchers.
All the rooms are different and are either standard, deluxe, family rooms; we also have two four-poster suites and all are en-suite. B&B prices range from £64.00 for two people sharing, with family suites consisting of 1 twin-bedded and 1 double room en-suite from £84.00 per suite. |

Brynafon is open all day for Morning Coffees, Bar Meals, Cream Teas, Evening Dinner and Sunday Lunches.
Simon Backhouse our executive chef has created superb eclectic menu that ranges from the very simple wild mushroom risotto or fresh pasta through to roasted wild salmon, fresh seafood, black beef and just simply the very best Welsh lamb.
A 'Specials Board' augments our menu where you will find many traditional favourites. Our Sunday Menu includes a selection of traditional roasts, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Special dietary requirements catered for on request. |

The bar is a very unique place to eat & drink or just unwind. Running nearly the whole width of the room is a sunken fish pool which was used by vagrants to cleanse their feet before being allowed into the workhouse.
Leading from the bar is an enclosed sunny courtyard which is beautiful to sit in throughout the Spring & Summer. In the afternoons you can see the 'Red Kite' circling above after being fed at the neighbouring Gigrin Farm feeding station. |
