The Hotel is situated in a superb position on the seafront at Thorpe Bay, just outside Southend on Sea commanding unrivalled views of the Thames Estuary. This superb family run hotel has the reputation as one of the finest in Essex with Robert and Kerry Cammidge and family now in their twentieth year.
With the resort of Southend just a few minutes walk away from the peaceful seclusion of Thorpe Bay, guests have the best of both worlds. The calm and quiet of the hotels location yet fun and games nearby.
There is no shortage of attractions, activities and events in the immediate and surrounding area.

The Camelia has 34 ensuite rooms all with fresh bright interiors and all the usual facilities that makes it the highest rated hotel with the tourist board in the area.
Suites and executive rooms all benefit from superb sea views across the Estuary and out to sea whilst superior doubles are a more spacious alternative to the standard double room.
We also have a Honeymoon suite with sumptuous four poster bed.
Restaurant
The Camelia restaurant is a stylish yet informal home to high quality cooking that draws on the best of modern English and continental influences. Guests can enjoy dishes distinguished by real appreciation of the freshest of seasonal produce.
Functions
The combination of attentive service and elegant surroundings also make the Camelia a superb location for those special occasions - weddings, anniversaries or birthdays where we can entertain up to 100 guests. How to find us
The Camelia Hotel is a mile from Southend on Sea, close to both the rail station and the airport. London is only a 45 minutes drive away.
By Rail:
Rail services from London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria or Fenchurch Street to Thorpe Bay: both stations are just a short taxi ride away.
By Road:
From the M25 take the A13 or A127 road to Southend, when in Southend follow the signs to the sea front. Turn left on to Seafront. We are located 1 mile east of the pier. |
