The Cedar Tree Hotel Rugeley, is an impressive listed Georgian property dating over two hundred years old. It has undergone various uses over its history from a private residence to being requisitioned by the army in the Second World War. It was converted to a hotel nearly forty years ago with extensive additions including the impressive function suite. The hotel derives its name from the magnificent cedar tree at the front which is approximately 400 years old and is a famous landmark in the area. A full refurbishment of the hotel interior has resulted in a high quality environment that will impress your guests and also provides exceptional value.

The area has many local attractions close by including Cannock Chase, Drayton Manor Park, Alton Towers, Shugborough Estate and Lichfield Cathedral.

The Cedar Tree is situated just 5 miles from the attractive city of Lichfield, an excellent tourist location with its magnificent cathedral. Just a short drive away is Cannock Chase, a renowned local beauty spot ideal for picnics and walks. On the edge of Cannock chase is the beautiful Shugborough Hall, family home of the late Lord Lichfield. There are also a number of good quality golf courses close by as well as Alton Towers and Drayton Manor theme parks within easy reach. A courtesy bus is available to ferry you to and from local amenities.

Centrally positioned between the M6 and M42 motorway networks the hotel is a short drive from Lichfield and within easy commuting distance of Wolverhampton, Stafford, Staffordshire County Showground, Uttoxeter Racecourse and of course Birmingham with it's National Exhibition Centre (NEC) close by. The newly re-opened Rugeley railway station is only two miles away and has a direct line to Birmingham. If you are thinking of a golf hotel break there are also some excellent golf courses in the area, including the Belfry, and we can supply a courtesy bus to take you and your guests to and from your course of choice.

The Cedar Tree's restaurant has an intimate atmosphere which is retained by the historic architecture and can seat up to 50 people.
