Watch the sunrise over Brimham Rocks (if you are an early riser!), then after a leisurely breakfast consisting largely of local produce, walk along the River Nidd into Pateley Bridge or drive to Fountains Abbey or Harrogate for lunch.

Central House is to be found in the pleasant and peaceful Nidderdale village of Glasshouses (where glass for Fountains Abbey was made many centuries ago).

We have one double and a twin room - both en-suite with TV and tea making equipment. A full English breakfast cooked with local sausage and bacon. The Birch Tree Inn is just 2 minutes walk away for evening meals.

There is plenty for everyone to do in the surrounding area. Walking can either be a leisurely stroll along field paths or by the lake, or a climb up through Guisecliff woods to Crocodile Rock, or more demanding still, you can hike over higher ground at the head of the valley - Great Whernside and Simon's Seat, for example.

There is horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, caves to be explored, rock faces to be climbed, country houses and gardens to be visited - or you can just take it easy exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and pretty villages. We are only 20 minutes from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon, and about an hour from York or Leeds for those who like to shop.
