The Lodge

Set in the grounds of Channels Golf Club, this beautifully converted 15th Century farmhouse is an ideal venue for wedding and conference overnight stays and, of course, golfing breaks.

The six en-suite bedrooms have been individually designed and are equipped to the highest standards combining the best of the old with the best of the new, while Channels Restaurant is renowned for its excellent food and friendly service.

With a bridal suite and five executive rooms, this small but luxurious hotel provides an atmosphere in which guests may work or relax with equal facility.

Its situation close to the A12 between Chelmsford (2 miles) and Colchester (25 miles) and with Stansted Airport only 20 minutes away, makes Channels Lodge in the heart of the Essex countryside, a perfect location both for business and pleasure. Free parking when travelling to and from Stansted.

"Channels 17th ..... A Real Card Wrecker!!!!"
The Channels Complex is set in 300 acres of beautiful mature Essex parkland. Founded in 1974 and starting life as a nine hole course on flat farm land. Over the years sand and gravel has been extracted from surrounding land, landscaped and restored to further golf holes.

On 1st April, 1994 27 holes were complete and the Belsteads Course was opened. In years to come more holes will be added and eventually there will be two eighteen hole courses.

Channels Course - Par 71 SSS 71
Channels is our main eighteen hole course and mixes some of the old holes with some of the new. A magnificent course, boasting some of the finest greens in the county, superbly managed and kept in peak condition. Being mainly on restored land, it is quite unique to Essex with its numerous lakes and undulating fairways.

There are places where the lower handicapper may wish to test his prowess and "go for the carry" over the lakes, or mere mortals can take the safe route down the fairway. Watch out for the 17th, it's a real card wrecker!!

Belsteads Course - Par 67 SSS 63
"Belsteads Course ... A good test for the accomplished golfer!!!"
Belsteads is our nine hole course which has twodifferent tees for both men and Ladies, so you can in fact play it as a full 18 holes. Although it is not that long at 4779 yards it has three holes where water has to be negotiated and whilst it is an ideal course for golfers new to the game, it is still a good challenge for the more accomplished player.

Golf Society Days
Combine the excellence of the golf courses and the superb hospitality. Channels is well equipped for both private and corporate golfing events.

No matter how large or small your golf society, you are made very welcome as tailor-made packages can be arranged to suit all requirements. The use of both courses provides the golfing challenge, whilst the delightful clubhouse accommodates friendly service and culinary delights for which the club is renowned.
