Alnwick is a medieval market town situated in the heart of the Northumberland countryside. Recorded history began almost 1,000 years ago with the building of the Norman Castle, now owned and occupied by the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland - Alnwick Castle. Viewed from the northern approaches to the town, it is among the most imposing sights in the country.
The Castle, Gardens, Playhouse and town centre with its varied restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Other attractions including the golf course and swimming pool and museums are also close by.
The area surrounding Alnwick is known as the 'Secret Kingdom'. Visitors are just discovering what the locals have enjoyed for centuries.

The region has everything for the perfect holiday; rolling countryside; long sandy beaches, quaint villages and historic market towns sit with magnificent castles in spectacular unspoiled surroundings.
The area is steeped in history with more castles and fortified houses than any other county in England. A heritage site, battlefields, Saxon churches, Holy Island, this is an area of designated outstanding natural beauty, all within easy distance of Alnwick.
