Chequers Inn, AsfordAll 4 bedrooms at the Chequers are decorated using period pieces in keeping with the ambience of the building and all rooms are en-suite with tea & coffee making facilities. We have 2 double rooms, 1 family room (sleeping 3) and a twin room available.

Our four poster bedroom has a wealth of romantic charm and is ideal for a special night away or for the more adventurous, our haunted room boasts a resident Napoleonic soldier who makes occasional appearances when the mood takes him. Apparently, upon his return from the wars in around 1812 he stayed at the Inn and was plied with drink one evening by a young lass. When he retired to bed suitably anaesthetised, she crept into his bedroom to rob him. He awoke however, and in the ensuing struggle she stabbed him and fled but the poor man died from his wounds.

Our accommodation is very competitively priced and offers what we believe to be the best value and friendliest service for miles around, call us for more details or to make a reservation.

The Bar

Retaining the character & style of an Olde Worlde country pub, our bar area is an ideal place to relax & unwind. We serve a wide range of real ale, Guinness and draught beers as well as a selection of fine single malt whiskies, excellent wines and of course, drinks for the drivers amongst you. Lunch and dinner can be taken in the bar from either of the available menus.
