Location

Situated in an elevated position enjoying stunning views of the delightful Mid Wales countryside, Cherry Tree Cottage offers an ideal base from which to explore this most scenic of regions, or participate in the many and varied activities on offer in the area. Located off a quiet country lane just two miles from the village of Trefeglwys and five miles from the historic market town of Llanidloes, first town on the River Severn, the cottage has two letting rooms, a twin and a double room, both with tea and coffee making facilities and a TV.

Whether you are a dedicated walker, fisherman, cyclist or golfer, you will find the cottage perfectly situated for accessing all your needs. The magnificent Llyn Clwedog, just two miles away, offers a wonderful venue for sailing as well as being the best trout fishing lake in the country. The whole area is seamed with footpaths, National Trails and the quietest of country lanes, all waiting to be explored. And having played hard, you can return to enjoy the hospitality of your hosts, Frank and Jean Poole, professional caterers who can offer you an evening meal, or you can just sit and relax in the conservatory as the sun sets behind the towering Van Hill and the surrounding valleys are bathed in the soft light of evening. Cherrytree Cottage is only 40 minutes away from the coast. There is mountain road which takes you through the heart of the mid Wales countryside past Winford Vaughan Thomas favorite view in Wales, and onto Machynlleth and from there to the coastal towns of Barmouth, Aberdovey Borth and Aberystwyth.
