This delightful 17th century guest house, once the village shop and bakery is located in the centre of the village of Winterbourne Abbas just 5 miles west of Dorchester. Churchview is noted for its comfort, warm welcome and delicious meals and makes an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring beautiful West Dorset.

All 9 of our well appointed bedrooms have been decorated to reflect their own distinct character and the cosy and relaxed ambience of the house.
Each room is provided with television, alarm clock radio and hospitality tray.

Meals are served in our charming period dining room. Our evening meals offer delicious and varied menus using many local products, notably Dorset clotted cream, farm cheeses.
We are happy to provide vegetarian dishes and to cater for specialist diets on request.

Places of Interest
West Dorset is a wonderful area to explore with many undiscovered delights. The countryside is beautiful with undulating hills and numerous ancient hill forts and burial mounds.The villages with their many thatched houses will enchant. The coast line is spectacular by any standards, with the Chesil Beach giving one of the most magnificent views to be had anywhere in the country. Walkers will find a daunting variety of foot paths to choose from. In recent years West Dorset has been the back drop to several TV series, who knows, you might appear as an extra!

Approach Winterbouren Abbas on the A35 and we are in the centre of the village directly opposite the church.

The 31 bus service runs hourly from Dorchester South station and stops outside the door
