General location
The guest house is located midway between Odiham and Farnham along the A287. Access to the property is via either end of a horse shoe road to the A287 called Bowling Alley.
One entrances to Bowling Alley is opposite the Murco petrol station and the other is 400 meters further towards Farnham.
The bed and breakfast accommodation is easily found from either end of the horse shoe and is next door but one to the 17th century Public House called the Horns Inn.
Clarendon Lodge is positioned among mature and semi mature foliage offering a peaceful night's rest, and yet it is only a few minutes drive to several large towns.
Due to the surrounding foliage some guests have driven straight past the Guest House which has caused them to telephone for directions to the Lodge.
Clarendon Lodge can now be recognized easily from the prominent sign kindly donated by the first Earl of Clarendon (born 1609).
When he visited last year, he booked a twin room which he shared with his buddy King Charles 1st. The Earl said he had difficulty finding the Guest House which is why he offered to commission a new sign from taxes collected by Charlie, (not from his own pocket).
The following morning the Earl said, "actually, it is not so difficult to find, its just that Charlie had too much to drink while celebrating the impeachment of the Earl of Stafford last night for stealing his mobile phone".
In case new guests should have any difficulty finding the guest house, please visit our own website www.clarendonlodge.com and click on "The Map and Directions" button for guidance on how to get here. |
