Old farmhouse, now a comfortable family home, in the centre of the historic Downland village of East Hendred:

15 minutes from exit 13 on the M4. 12 miles south of Oxford; 12 miles north of Newbury. 3-5 miles from Wantage and Abingdon.

15 minutes from Didcot mainline railway station.

FOR COUNTRY LOVERS AND WALKERS

The Ridgeway Path and the Icknield Way are 5 minutes from the house by car. Lovely walking along these remote tracks which date back to prehistoric times. Sites of ancient history include the White Horse, the Iron Age Fort and Waylands Smithy.

Downland villages such as Ardington, Lockinge, Childrey and Sparsholt.

HOW TO FIND US

Cowdrays is behind a wall and wooden gates, in Cat Street, near the intersection of Cat Street, Mill Lane, Allins Lane and Orchard Lane.

From London, Heathrow, Gatwick and the south:
Take the M4 and come off at exit 13, following the A34 north TOWARDS Oxford. Approximately 8 miles from the M4, take the Wantage exit (left) and join the A417 (left). Turn left into East Hendred Village.


From the M40, Oxford and the north:
Take the A34 towards Newbury. Exit at Didcot, following the signs to Wantage. Join the A417. Turn left into East Hendred Village.

From Wantage and the west:
Take the A417 towards Reading. Turn right into East Hendred Village.
