Local owners Gorgon and Catriona Barbour love to eat out and can give you advice on eating for all tastes and budgets.
Our eating out guide is in every room and tells you about the places we like.

Throughout the year there is music and dance somewhere in Inverness, especially in the summer months when we have pipe bands in the street and many festivals. |

RIVER NESS You can walk to The River Ness and visit the island walks that cross the river, watch fishermen wait for a bite or get more active and try the aquacentre.
It is not necessary to have a car. The Crown Hotel has a very convenient location. The castle is only a short walk away. Below the castle walls the River Ness flows through the town.
Bridges arch and promenades stretch to the islands, which are just waiting to be explored. |

BEYOND INVERNESS Inverness is ideal for day trips and tour. Visit Loch Ness and see if you can be the one to get the photo that proves it is there without a doubt.
In summer there are trips to the west, Skye and even a day trip to the Orkney Isles.
Dolphin trips leave from Inverness harbour and even in a short car trip our guests have seen dolphins from the shore.
For history you can take in castles, battlefields and visit the country of your forefathers, perhaps. |
