Welcome

Croyden House is situated on a quiet one-way street in the centre of Ambleside, just a minutes walk from the main bus stops.

Ambleside is one of the most picturesque and popular villages in the Lake District with a wide range of shops, restaurants and inns catering for all tastes. The central location gives easy access to many of the most beautiful areas of the Lakes: to the north-east over Kirkstone Pass to Ullswater; to the west over two of the Lake District's most adventurous passes to the lovely Eskdale Valley and Wastwater with Scafel at its head. Alternatively, you can go south to Windermere or north to Keswick passing Rydal Water and Grasmere, home of William Wordsworth.

We offer a warm and friendly welcome; provide excellent facilities at affordable rates in a pleasant atmosphere with ten bright, clean, cheerful and tastefully furnished rooms, some with views of Fairfield Horseshoe and Loughrigg.

We offer guests accommodation in single, double, twin and family rooms and are happy to welcome groups.

Eight rooms have en-suite facilities, two use a bathroom across the landing, and all rooms are individually heated and have a colour television, as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

Croyden House is strictly non-smoking.

Every morning we offer a generous breakfast menu which includes freshly cooked English breakfast, a variety of home made marmalade and jams, seved either in our pleasant traditional dining room and/or our newly converted Lakeland slate room.

We are happy to cater for special dietry needs, but please let us know when making a booking. Early breakfasts can also be arranged if you require an early start to the day.

We offer a packed lunch on request including freshly made sandwiches and home made cakes.
