The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and is the ideal centre for abode both while touring or conducting business anywhere in the South of England. It is also within easy reach of London and about half and hour's journey from Heathrow Airport. The hotel is only minutes' drive from junction 10 along the M4 motorway whence the A329 (M) motorway into Reading will bring you less than a mile from a warm welcome at the Elmhurst.

Reading town centre as well as other local business and industry centres of South Reading, Sutton Seeds Earley, Wokingham, Winnersh to name but a few, are all within easy reach either by motorcar or local transportation. One can either catch a bus at any one of the many bus stops nearby or a train from Earley Railway Station which is also within walking distance. Trains from Earley go to London Waterloo but the fast express half hourly coach service for the London Reading route also stops nearby the hotel.

The local seats of learning, Reading University, Bulmershe College and Reading Technical College are all within walking distances and Royal Berkshire Hospital is not far either.
