is a half-timbered farmhouse dating from the 16th century which has been carefully restored by the present owners, John & Sylvia Fowler, whose family have been connected with the property for over 300 years. It is set in 250 acres of farm and woodlands with good coarse fishing in ponds and on a 3/4 mile stretch of the River Adur.![]() There is a large garden with indoor and outdoor swimming pool (heated in summer) available for guests. All rooms have central heating. Colour TV, wash basins and facilities for making hot drinks but in order to comply with the requirements of our insurers, guests are requested not to smoke in the bedrooms. There is ample off-road parking and free car storage for visitors travelling on holiday from Gatwick Airport, which is only 20 minutes away by motorway. Transport to and from the airport can be provided at extra charge. |
| Directions Coming from the North (London and Gatwick Airport) Follow M23 motorway until it becomes A23 and then proceed for a further 7 miles to intersection with A272. Turn right onto A272 (signpost Cowfold and Petersfield). Proceed for 1.5 miles on A272 and turn left into Wineham Lane at the second cross-roads. Proceed on Wineham Lane for 2 miles until you come to a red telephone box where you turn right into Frylands Lane. Frylands is on the left-hand side of Frylands Lane. 1/3 mile from the junction with Wineham Lane. Please use the second entrance marked "Frylands" and not the first, which is marked "Frylands Farm". Coming From the East or West A272 Proceed to Wineham lane turning which is 2 miles after a village of Cowford (coming from the west) or 1.5 miles after the intersection with A23 (coming from East) and then follow instructions as above. Coming from the South (Brighton) Follow A23 northwards for 4 miles after leaving built-up area of Brighton and then take the slip road for B2118 (signed for Albourne and Hickstead Showground). At the traffic lights in Albourne turn left onto B2116 (signed for Henfield).Proceed on B2116 for 2 miles and turn right into Wineham Lane. Proceed on Wineham Lane for one mile and turn left by a red telephone box into Frylands Lane. Frylands is on the left-hand side of Frylands Lane 1/3 mile from the junction with Wineham Lane. Please use the second entrance marked "Frylands" and not the first, which is marked "Frylands Farm". Coming from the south west (Henfield). Leave Henfield by A281 towards Horsham and after one mile turn right onto B2116. After a further mile into Wineham Lane immediately after The Wheatsheaf Inn follow instructions as above. |
