Welcome

If you are seeking spectacular views and a hotel offering warmth, comfort and character, you can be assured of a friendly welcome when you stay at the Glyn-y-Coed Hotel.

Situated in the best position in Criccieth and facing due south, the hotel overlooks the Esplanade and offers splendid views of Criccieth Castle, the Berwyn Mountains and beautiful Cardigan Bay. We believe the Glyn Y Coed to be one of the finest hotels in Criccieth.

We have private parking and are just 2 minutes walk from the shops, restaurants and beach and 10 minutes walk from Criccieth Castle. Within 5 minutes walk, we have 5 excellent restaurants to choose from. All come highly recommended and provide freshly prepared food.

We are just a few minutes walk from the train and bus stops.

We have 10 rooms, all newly refurbished with fully tiled ensuite shower or bathrooms, telephone, TV, tea making facilities, hairdryers etc. Ironing facilities available on request.

We have a variety of rooms and facilities available such as four poster / king-size / sea-view / family room with sofa lounge etc. We also have a ground floor annex with private access.

We are delighted that we have now been awarded with Red Diamonds from the AA and the Gold Host Award from the Welsh Tourist Board.

The south facing patio gardens, overlooking the sea, are the ideal place to unwind with a refreshing drink as you watch the world go by.
Attractions

North Wales offers an unrivalled choice of scenery and activity to the discerning visitor and particularly attracts the walkers, climbers and cyclists. Criccieth is also popular for golfers, being central to courses in Porthmadog, Abersoch, Harlech, Nefyn, Pwllheli and Criccieth.

We are approximately 7 miles from Portmeirion Village and close to many attractions such as the Festiniog Railway, Snowdonia National Park, slate mines, copper mines, museums and not forgetting the various beautiful beaches and coastlines. Criccieth is as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer.

The close by Snowdonia National Park covers 823 square miles of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in North West Wales. Unlike "wild" National Parks elsewhere in the world, Snowdonia is home to just over 26,000 people, who live and work in its towns and villages, and on its hill farms.
