| You are invited to bed and breakfast at our Tudor home in the heart of the Weald of Kent. |
Godwin House, built in 1580 and Grade II listed, lies in the lustrous countryside a mile east of ancient Cranbrook, the smallest town in Kent and one of its prettiest. This is bed and breakfast in the good old way but with all the mod cons too.
Godwin House is a largely intact Elizabethan farmhouse, set in lovely grounds looking across its own meadows. It includes what's said to be the smallest and the oldest oast house in Kent, and probably England, a 16th Century building rebuilt in 1750 and listed in its own right.
Garden Cottage with its peg tiled roof and weatherboarding is pure Kentish style and its exposed beams and antique furniture make it a welcoming and interesting space in which to be. The whole setting is a Kentish experience evoking the best of past times.
We offer privacy in our stylish and spacious Garden Cottage with it's en-suite bathroom and the best of local produce for breakfast. You can choose to eat in our 16th Century morning room in the main house or, on sunny days, outside on the patio overlooking the stunning garden and out to the views beyond in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. |
 | BREAKFAST
We know that it makes your day if your B and B spoils you with the fullest of full English breakfasts and that's what we will do. We want to make your day a bit more special by giving it a special start.
Our food comes from local suppliers. The eggs are from down the road and the bread is baked locally with fine Cranbrook honey and Kentish jam to spread on it.
Our bacon has only travelled half a dozen miles and our sausages too come from the farms around us.
We offer a variety of special sausages like venison and wild boar with apple but you will need to let us know in advance and there is a small additional charge of £2 per person.
We are fully aware of vegetarian needs - just let us know. |
