West Dorset provides a peaceful retreat for your holiday.
West Dorset is approximately 400 square miles of unspoilt countryside, designated as an area of outstanding beauty. There is fantastic coastal scenery with a fascinating variety of sandy beaches, towering cliffs and single banks which include the famous Chesil beach. Inland there are picturesque villages with their thatched cottages and ancient churches, also stately homes, magnificent gardens, castles, ancient monuments and museums.
'Far From the Madding Crowd' was a title used by Thomas Hardy to describe Dorset with its rolling landscapes, coastal scenery, picturesque villages and romantic history.
The Bridport and West Dorset golf club situated opposite the hotel, offers reduced fees for hotel guests. There are also other courses nearby: Lyme Regis, Chard, Dorchester and Yeovil.
