The Halland Forge is a charming country inn set in the heart of Sussex, is adjacent to unspoilt woodland and has a large car park.

The location, close to the Sussex Downs and Ashdown Forest, make it an ideal base for exploring some of the most beautiful countryside in Southern England, as well as the many local attractions and nearby coastal resort.

The Halland Forge is reputedly built on the site of an old village forge. The attractive single story building with oak beams and a welcoming log fire in winter has been a hostelry for over fifty years.

The Inn can accommodation up to 42 guests. Its comfortable bedrooms are all en suite and have colour television, direct dial telephone, trouser press, hair dryer and refreshment trays. Ironing facilities are available on request.The bar and lounge area have ample seating for you to relax with morning coffee, afternoon tea or a drink. A wide selection of bar meals are also available.

The Halland Forge with its renowned lunchtime carvery, extensive evening menu and a tempting selection of Old and New World wines, provides a relaxed and informal setting.

A separate room is also available for private dining or business meetings. Audio visual equipment including OHP, flip charts, TV and video, fax machine, etc. can be supplied free of charge. In addition to the above, we also have a laptop projector for hire.

The Halland Forge is an ideal base for visiting many of the historic and interesting sites in the area such as Hartfield, home of AA Milnes' famous character, Winnie the Pooh, The beautiful gardens of Sheffield Park, Wakehurst, Nymans and Leonardslee are all within easy distance as is the attractive Sussex Coast.

Places of historial interest in the area include the county town of Lewes and village of Alfriston, Scotney Castle, Battle Abbey, Michelem Priory, the Royal Ravillion and Pevensey Castle. Drusillas Zoo Park, Newhaven Fort, Knockhatch Adventure Park and the Bluebell Steam Railway are a fun day out for all the family.

There is also a wide range of outdoor activities, trekking, horse riding, racing (Lingfield Park and Plumpton) and Short Circuit Motor racing at Arlington Stadium including Stock Cars, Bangers and Hot Rods.

The Halland Forge is located on the main A22 London to Eastbourne road in the hamlet of Halland, just 4 ½ miles South of Uckfield.

By Road

From London, M25 on to the M23/A22 provide the best access.

By Rail

Lewes Railway Station (9 miles), Uckfield Railway Station (4 ½ miles).
