The Hayes is a large country house, on the eastern edge of the village. It lies in seven acres of garden, woodland and pasture and there are splendid views over the Tyne Valley to the South.

There are a number of small specialist shops, a post - office, super market, several old inns, coffee shops and a late medieval church. The remains of the old Roman town of Corstopitum is nearby, Hadrian's Wall is but a few miles away and there are numerous other places of interest to visit, such as Kielder Forest, the borders and Durham cathedral, The Gateshead "Eye Bridge" the Baltic arts Centre and Sage Music Centre, Sage Music Centre.

Coarse and fly - fishing are available in the R Tyne.

Hexham is the local market town and has a cattle market, a variety of shops, a concert hall, an indoor swimming pool and leisure centre, a garden centre and an historic abbey.

To the east there is the Gateshead Metro Centre which is the largest shopping complex in Europe. Newcastle upon Tyne is 18 miles to the east, Carlisle 35 miles to the west with an airport at Newcastle and ready access to both the A1(M) and the M6. There is a good local bus service with a nearby stop and also a link to the Newcastle-Carlisle rail service.

This comprises 1 single room and 1 family room (1 double and 2 single beds), each with a hand-basin and both sharing a private bathroom, 1 en-suite triple (1 double & 1single) bedded room and 1 en-suite family room (1 double and 2 single beds). TV, hairdryers, radio clock and tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms. There is a spacious lounge with TV which also provides dining facilities.

Stanner lift installed and full fire certificate. Ample parking.

Children welcome. Tourist Board inspected.

Stable and Bothy Cottages

These form part of a small courtyard and were formerly the stables.
Each cottage has its own parking bay.

The accommodation (sleeping 4-5) comprises:

First Floor

Bedroom 1 with double bed
Bedroom 2 with twin beds
Shower room which includes WC, and hand basin.

Ground floor

The Bothy
Kitchen/dining room (incl. electric cooker, fridge, washing machine and microwave and dishwasher.)
Separate lounge (with chair bed for 5th person) (and with WC and hand basin. Off)
The Stable
Kitchen/lounge (incl. Electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave). Dining room annexe off with chair bed for 5th person and cloakroom (WC and hand basin).

Colour TV. Fitted carpets and central heating throughout in both cottages.

All self catering accommodation is provided with duvets.

Please bring sheets, pillow cases, table and kitchen linen and towels. If preferred, linen can be hired at a weekly charge.

Heating, lighting and cooking costs are included in the rental.

Tenants undertake in renting a property to accept responsibility for leaving it clean and tidy on completion of their stay.

Time of arrival: 4.00pm onwards.
Time of departure: 10.30am.
Bookings from Saturday to Saturday, excepting short term out of season breaks.

A booking fee of £65 is required with the balance paid at least four weeks prior to commencement of the holiday.
