Heather Cottage stands on open forest where ponies roam freely, on the edge of Sway, a village with pubs, shops church, an art gallery and station. There are excellent restaurants in Sway and in the attractive village of Brockenhurst 2 miles away.

Visitors receive a warm welcome and may choose double (Kingsize bed), twin or single rooms with en suite or private facilities. Tea/coffee making, TV and radio. There is a single bed in one of the double rooms. A travel cot is available by arrangement.

Breakfast is served in the dining room, conservatory or garden as wished. Food is local and organic where possible.

The area is popular for walking, riding, cycling, sailing, fishing, bird watching, deer watching and the contrasting atmospheres of wooded forest, heath, solent, open sea and beaches.

Lymington, with its Georgian buildings, harbour, Saturday market, marinas and access to the Solent Way coastal path is 3 miles away. The Isle of Wight ferry leaves hourly.

Beaulieu Abbey and motor museum. Exbury gardens, Hurst and Calshot castles, moors Valley and Paultons Adventure Parks are all within half an hours drive. The cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester and Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth are less than an hour away.

All offer good shopping, museums, art galleries, theatre, cinema and music.

Self Catering

This charming period mid-terrace cottage stands in a small, quiet lane in Sway in the New Forest National Park, within walking distance of the mainline railway station of Sway. The New Forest Ponies regularly roam past and you may walk from here straight onto the open forest.

The cottage is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard. It is cleaned and maintained by the owner who is always willing to meet any needs guests may have and to offer advice on trips and walks for example to help ensure that you make the most of your New Forest Holiday.


Heatherview's Accommodation

Heatherview sleeps 4/5 people.

Downstairs, Heatherview has a a well equipped kitchen with a pull up table and chairs, which leads out to a small patio with table and chairs. The enclosed garden is laid to lawn and shrubs and is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

There is a clothes line and a shed for bikes and pushchairs, available for your use. The first basket of logs for your fire is in here. More logs can be bought locally.

Bring your logs into the sitting room with enjoy a real open fire. There is also a digital TV/DVD and radio/CD.

Or relax over in a meal in the dining room complete with dining room table and chairs and a sofa bed.

There is also a W.C with hand basin.

Hot water and heating is from a combi boiler.


Upstairs the cottage has two bedrooms, the first a double room with a 5ft bed, and the second a twin room. They both share a family bathroom with bath with shower over, hand basin and W.C.

You will find the beds made up for you on your arrival, Please bring your own towels.

Parking for one car alongside the cottage fence and others on the verge further along.

Heatherview's Idyllic Location

Heatherview Self catering Cottage in Sway is ideally located, Sway village itself has a well-stocked general store, a butcher, newsagents, chemist, doctors surgery and a vets, as well as pubs and restaurants/hotels if you decide to eat out. The nearest pub, which serves meals and welcomes children and dogs, is 500 yd's away from Heatherview.

Sway Station is on the Poole - Southampton - Waterloo line, there is an hourly service and is ideal if you want to explore the New Forest by 'green transport', such as the bike or bus.

Brockenhurst is ten minutes drive away and represents a a typical New Forest village with cafes, tourist and antiques shops.

Lymington, with it's Georgian High Street, sailing harbour, interesting shops and Saturday market, is equally close. A ferry runs to the Isle of Wight from here.

Nearby attractions include Beaulieu Abbey and Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens, Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River and The New Forest Museum in Lyndhurst.

All of the New Forest National Park is open for walking as is the Solent Way Coast Path, famous for it's nature reserve. There are excellent beaches between Milford-on-sea and Christchurch harbour. Horse riding, golf, fishing, cycling, wagon rides and boating all within the immediate area and further afield are the cathedral cities of Winchester, Salisbury and Chichester. Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth offer cinemas, theatre museums and large shopping centres.

We are easy to find. . .

From Lyndhurst take the A 337 to. On reaching Brockenhurst take the B3055 opposite Careys Manor Hotel and LeBlaireau Restaurant, stay on the B 3055 and go under two railway bridges and take the 2nd turning on the left at Sway Memorial signposted Pennington. Chapel Lane will be found in approximately 1/4 mile on the right hand side just after the post box. Heather Cottage is 4 cottages down on the left hand side.

Have a safe journey and please watch for ponies as there is a 40 mile an hour limit on the B 3055 and ponies have the right of way.
