The Hermitage is a Scottish Tourist Board four-star rated bed and breakfast. The late Georgian house is set in a large garden in a central, yet quiet part of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. The guest accommodation spreads over two floors, with drawing room and dining room on the ground floor and three en-suite letting bedrooms on the first floor.
The house is furnished with antique and period furniture and fittings, yet has all modern conveniences - comfortable beds made up with luxury bedlinen, bathrooms with large, fluffy towels and a selection of Scottish toiletries, radio and Internet WiFi connection in the bedrooms and television/video/DVD in the drawing room. |
Rooms
All the rooms are individually furnished, and have their own character. They all have modern en-suite bath or shower rooms. Each room has a sitting area with one or two armchairs and a reading light, a dressing table with mirror, and ample storage for hanging and folded clothes. The rooms are all equipped with a tray set for making tea and coffee (including herbal teas) with fresh milk or lemon and a tin of home-made biscuits, and we also offer a complimentary "nip" of Scotch whisky to our guests. Other facilities available in each of the rooms are WiFi connection, hairdryer and clock radio, as well as a selection of reading matter.
All bedding and linen are of the highest quality with feather and down duvets and pillows and high thread-count Egyptian bedlinen on the beds and large, fluffy towels in the bathroom. Please let us know in advance if you need non-allergenic bedding. We also provide dressing gowns for your use during your stay. |
Tariff
1 November to 28 February: £30 per person per night for double occupancy, £40 per person per night for single occupancy
1 October to 31 October and 1 March to 31 May: £35 per person per night for double occupancy, £45 for single occupancy
1 June - 30 September: £38 per person per night for double occupancy, £48 for single occupancy
We offer a discount for longer stays - the rate drops by £2.50 per person per night for stays of three nights or longer, and by £5 per person per night for stays in excess of seven nights.

Please also note that we cannot accept visiting dogs in the house (they can stay if they sleep in your car) - our own two Welsh Terriers love human visitors, but not visiting dogs! |
