Heughmill Bed and Breakfast, Prestwick

Heughmill is a converted farmhouse dating back in part to the 17th century when the mill served the needs of the local farming community. The ruins of the mill still stand in the grounds. The house is set in rolling countryside with panoramic views towards Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran, Ireland and the Paps of Jura (on a clear day).

Only 6 miles from Prestwick Airport, Heughmill is an ideal base for exploring south and central Scotland and Burns Country. Ferry services from Ardrossan provide access to the Isle of Arran and the Ayrshire coast gives tourists the opportunity to engage in numerous activities - golf, cycling, fishing, sailing and visiting historic castles such as Culzean.

This part of Ayrshire is a golfer's paradise with Royal Troon, Prestwick, Western Gailes and many renowned municipal golf courses within 15 minutes' drive.

There are countless interesting local hikes and rambles. Bird watching is a must (nesting owls and kestrels are visible from your bedroom window!).

Two excellent local pubs/restaurants are within 2 miles of Heughmill and there are a good variety of other restaurants in Prestwick, Ayr and Troon.
