Set in a tranquil position, well away from public roads, it is only a few miles from the stunning North Devon coastline, the wild splendour of Exmoor and the historic market town of Barnstaple.

Whether you like to spend your days walking along rugged cliff tops or in the wilds of Exmoor, cycling the Tarka Trail, surfing, horse-riding, bird-watching, fishing, playing golf or simply relaxing on the beach, start your day with a delicious home-cooked breakfast served in our cosy farmhouse kitchen. Choose a traditional English breakfast or opt for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs if you prefer something more lavish for that special occasion!

Our bedrooms have marble fireplaces and their own private bathrooms and you will have beautiful views of the hills from all of our rooms - even the loo's have views! A log-burning stove warms the 'snug' for guests to relax in at the end of those cooler days - just close the wooden shutters and perhaps listen to music or watch television.

....Murder Mystery....

We are now offering Murder Mystery breaks at Hewish Barton inclusive of full English breakfast and candlelit dinners served in front of a roaring log fire.

This is an ideal opportunity for you and your friends to enjoy each other's company, whilst indulging in an evening full of intrigue, suspense, humour and the fun of playing both detective and suspect! You will be sent invitations before the event so that you can decide which of the characters best match your friends and the rest is organised for you! It will be all the more fun if you dress up for the evening and costume suggestions will be sent to you.

1st day: Arrive any time in the afternoon/evening. Tea/coffee upon arrival. Light supper served during the evening.

2nd day: Full English breakfast then perhaps a walk along the cliffs or a stroll across Woolacombe beach - that seems to stretch on forever. Or maybe a drive across Exmoor or a visit to Lynmouth via the extraordinary Valley of the Rocks. Then return for hot scones and home-made cakes. In the evening it is time for the 'murder' to be committed and your chance to work out who the culprit is, and all the scandal that inevitably has taken place amongst your 'friends' - while enjoying a delicious candlelit dinner served at our old oak table; a log fire crackling in the huge grate.

3rd day: Full English breakfast (if you can still manage it!) and sad departure. For two nights £125 per person all inclusive.

If you wish to extend your stay to see more of the beautiful area, we would be delighted to recommend places to visit.
