This 17th Century cottage, which was enlarged in Victorian times, sits in its own grounds surrounded by orchards and open farmlands with spectacular views of the Malvern Hills which were the inspiration for England's most famous composer, Sir Edward Elgar. A warm welcome awaits guests who enter the cottage through a plant filled conservatory into the old oak beams hall with original cast iron range. The comfortable lounge with warming log fire and antique sofa and the cosy Victorian style bar, open onto the beautiful wisteria covered terrace.

The pretty green Dining Room overlooks the garden. Fine oak tables, flowers and candlelight offer the perfect setting for the award winning menu which combines the finest seasonal produce, freshly prepared each day. Quality and attention to detail are reflected in the small touches that make an occasion special. The light airy bedrooms are all individually furnished and each one is named after one of the surrounding hills. All are en-suite and offer the additional comforts of tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, direct dial telephone and of course a teddy bear. All bedrooms are non-smoking. The beauty of the Malvern Hills is timeless and the hotel offers a perfect starting point for those who enjoy walking. However, there is much to see and do for those who are less energetic. The Victorian spa town of Great Malvern is just four miles away, and nearby is the black and white market town of Ledbury and fine Cathedral Cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester. The Three Counties Showground, the host of many major events is less than 2 miles from the hotel. The Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds are all within easy touring distance making this an ideal centre for enjoying the Heart of England.

How to Find Us The hotel is located on the A4104 mid-way between Little Malvern and Welland. It is easily accessible from the M5 motorway via the M50, leaving at exit 1, follow the A38 northwards, then turn left onto the A4104 through Upton upon Severn and Welland. The Holdfast Cottage is privately owned and personally run by the proprietors, Guy and Annie Dixon.
