Holly Tree Cottage is situated in Pathlow, a small hamlet in the heart of Shakespeare Country just three mile north of Stratford-upon-Avon on the A3400 towards Henley in Arden.

The cottage, which has ample parking, dates back to the 17th century with later additions including Victorian and present day. The period charm of the beamed ceilings, antique furnishings, paintings, collection of porcelain and the touch of fresh flowers, combine with the modern comforts to create a feeling of warmth and friendliness.

The picturesque gardens extend to orchard, paddock and pasture with walks, wildlife and far reaching views over the countryside where you can ramble or just amble down to the canal and the local pubs.

A deep water well and flagstones create interest whilst seating areas in sunny spots or shady places with water features splashing provide a haven to enjoy a cup of tea or a chat, maybe have a drink, or perhaps a picnic, catch up on some reading or just sit and relax and gaze into the distance.

The sunsets can be spectacular.

The double, twin and family accommodation has en suite and private facilities, televisions, radio/alarms, hair dryers, books, magazines and hospitality trays. There is also a comfortable lounge.

Hearty traditional breakfasts are prepared on the Aga cooker. The freshly prepared fruit salad and home made preserves are a speciality. Vegetarian dishes and Continental breakfasts are also available and all are served in the attractive beamed dining room.

Stratford-upon-Avon itself offers the world renowned Shakespeare properties and theatres. Guided bus tours around the town and boat trips on the river are always attractive on sunny days. Golf, horse riding and gliding are all available locally, not to mention hot air ballooning and flying lessons. Nearby is the historic county town of Warwick with its magnificent mediaeval castle. There are many fine gardens and stately homes, including at least seven National Trust properties within half an hour's drive. Local pub meals are thoroughly recommended and there are a number of restaurants close by providing a wide variety of food to suit all tastes.

There are superb shopping facilities and we can point you in the direction of Craft Centres, Antiques and market places. The beautiful Cotswolds villages and the historic cities of Oxford, Worcester and Coventry are all within easy reach. The National Exhibition Centre, the Symphony Hall and the National Indoor arena, Birmingham are only approximately half an hour away by car as is the National Agriculture Centre and Royal Showground at Stoneleigh.
