John and Diane Ware extend a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors to
Hunters Moon


Hunters Moon is a 17th Century cottage built on the edge of Bridestowe village. Originally two workers cottages built of local stone and cob it has been sympathetically extended to provide modern day comforts but still retaining the charm of days gone by with oak beams and inglenook fireplaces. An ideal base for exploring Dartmoor, Devon and Cornwall.

The surrounding area offers walking, riding, cycling, canoeing, fishing and plenty of attractions and places to visit.

Open all year (except Christmas and New Year). Booking essential.


Rooms

We offer Bed and Breakfast accomodation with full Devon breakfast. Evening meal is an optional extra. All food is home cooked using local produce where possible and our fresh eggs and homemade preserves.

We have one Double Room with En-suite and one Double / Family and one Twin room with Guest Bathroom.

All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, colour television, clock radio alarm, towels and bathrobes, toiletries, hairdryer and central heating.

Three course evening meal (set menu) is an optional extra and should be arranged in advance.

Local Area

Bridstowe is a small rural village nestled in the West Devon countryside on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Being centrally located all parts of Devon and parts of Cornwall are easily accessable.

Bridstowe offers the walker and cyclist wonderful surrroundings beind situated on the both the Two Castles Trail and the Ntaional Cycle Network and has a 17th Century Inn and a small General Stores with Post Office. Other close attractions include Lydford Gorge with famous White Lady Waterful, Morwelham Quay, Cotehele, Okehampton Castle, Dingles Steam Park and Roadford Lake also many National Trust Properties and gardens.

The lovely ancient stannary town of Tavistock with its mediaeval Abbey is only 10 miles away and has a daily Pannier Market and fortnightly Farmers Market.

The Cathedral city of Exeter and the Naval city of Plymouth are both within easy reach as are the south and north coasts of Devon and Cornwall

Within 1 hours drive are the Eden Project, Paignton Zoo, Plymouth Aquarium, Lanhydrock, Saltram, Castle Drogo, Buckland Abbey, The Garden House, RHS Rosemore and Finch Foundry. Beauty Spots such as Dartmouth, Looe and Polperro are to the South and Lynmouth, Westward Ho! Clovelly, Bude, Tintagel and Boscastle to the North.
