Pembrokeshire is a magical, mysterious place. Sir Benfro as it is known in Welsh is a pot pourri of historic towns, picturesque villages, breathtaking coastline, and the magnificent Preseli Hills. The ancients knew Pembrokeshire as a "gwlad hud a lledrith" - the land of mystery and enchantment. It's superb coastline makes up one sixth of the shoreline of Wales, and it boasts some of the finest, safe sandy beaches in the country.
Also nearby is the fascinating Gwaun Valley, which is an untouched woodland forest area. Parts of the valley are designated sites of special interest, and the valley is the haunt of the otter and the raven.
Fishguard is the site of the French invasion of Great Britain which took place in 1797. Come and see where the treaty was signed. Come and sample our traditional and national dishes such as Welsh cakes or Laverbread, or perhaps a Pembrokeshire Tea!
We now have a small licensed bar. |
