Jersey, which is also called The Bailiwick of Jersey, is a British Crown Dependency which is located near the coast of Normandy in France. Jersey is near two other islands, which aren't inhabited - the Minquiers and Ecrehous islands, as well as the Pierres de Lecq, and various other reefs.

Due to its closeness to the sea, visitors of the island will be able to enjoy the local fishing, and will be able to rent a cruise ship or a boat, and take their friends and family for a cruise around the different islands. It will also allow you to visit the different locations in the nearby area, making it ideal for people who want to see the most while on their vacation here.

Other points of attraction include the local cinema, in which various festivals are being held annually, and in which you can see many movies. Jersey also offers a lot food wise, due to being close to a water source, which provides fresh seafood - such as mussels, oysters, crabs, lobsters and much more. Other local cuisines include the Jersey wonders, which are also called mervelles, which is a fried dough that is offered around festivals.

Other foods of interest include the local milk, which is very rich making milk based products - such as cream and butter, very rich as well.

Other interesting things you can watch and participate in while in Jersey include the local sports events, such as the Commonwealth Games and the biennial Island Games, which have been held for many years. You can also watch the local cricket games - Jersey serves as a member of the International Cricket Council. or the ICC for short, and offers many inter-insular matches by teams who compete at a class of World Division 4. There are also junior cricket teams which play in the area in European Division 1.

Jersey also offers various other types of exercise, which include swimming in two public indoor swimming pools, or you can opt for swimming at sea in the open, and you'll be able to enjoy the local scenery, and you can also partake in many other forms of water sports - which include surfing, windsurfing, and many other types of sports.

There are also annual swimming and other water sporting events, which are held in Jersey by the various clubs in the area.

Jersey is divided into various parishes, which include Saint Saviour, Trinity, Saint Clement, Grouville and many more, and each parish has other points of attraction - but some aren't near the sea, but the distance isn't too far, so you need to plan your vacation and your sleeping arrangements accordingly.

Jersey also has international relations with many other countries and locations, so you don't have to worry - at the first sign of trouble, someone will be there to assist you.

Jersey also has its own banknotes, but also offers banknotes from the Bank of England, from various ATMs that are spread across the island, so you'll always have money at hand.
