Welcome to The Kingswood

Robbie and Janice welcome you to The Kingswood Weymouth, a spacious and comfortable Bed & Breakfast Guest House. Built in the late 1700's for the Surgeon Commander of the Naval base at Portland, the gardens originally went all the way down to the sea. In its time, The Kingswood has had many changes and was commandeered for American Officers during WW2.

We are ideal for those wishing to explore Weymouth, Portland and The World Heritage Coast. We are also ideal for sailors and divers to the area. We also offer free Cycle storage. The Kingswood is a totally non smoking establishment.

The Kingswood has its own large private car park for the use of residents and staff only. In the morning we are very well placed to explore the rest of Dorset.

Rooms at The Kingswood

All our bedrooms are twin or double rooms, individually designed with private bathrooms which have big fluffy towels. A welcome tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits is provided in each room also a hairdryer. An iron and ironing board is available on request.

New for 2011 we have 2 Super King bedrooms. These each have a brand new 6 foot bed which can be divided into 2 x 3 foot beds if preferred. One is a very large room with an en-suite jacuzzi bathroom. The other has a dressing room, bedroom with views to the White Horse and an en-suite shower room.

We are very proud of our standard of room service and do our best to make all the rooms as comfortable and clean as possible. One of our bedrooms alledgedly has a friendly ghost visitor! Although he or she has never been seen guests have reported their possessions moving over night (this used to be our younger daughter's bedroom) so perhaps a haunting experience in Weymouth.

Checkout time is 10.00am from Monday to Friday and 10.30am on Saturday and Sunday. We do our best to make sure all our rooms are available from 2.00pm on the day of booking.

Today The Kingswood has a brand new Dining Room created from the old bar area. Breakfast is served from 8.00am to 9.00am Monday to Friday, and 8.00am to 10.00am on Saturday and Sunday. We offer a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, fresh hot cooked breakfasts as well as toast and preserves. Hot fresh filter coffee, tea and fruit juice. Special diets can be catered for just mention this when making your reservation. Early breafast may be catered for by prior request.

A packed breakfast is offered for guests catching the early morning Condor Ferry to the Channel Islands or France.

We are a short downhill walk to Brewers Quay with its selection of restaurants and bars.There are numerous live music festivals and events held in Brewers Quay throughout the year.

The Harbour and Town Bridge follow from there to the rest of Weymouth and the Esplanade. We have a bus stop outside which goes to Portland in one direction and Weymouth in the other direction.
