Laneside, a superb self catering holiday cottage is situated in Upper Teesdale. Surrounded by delightful scenery and located in an idyllic position, tranquility is assured. Laneside combines the best features of traditional Dales life with modern facilities. It is an ideal base for walking, cycling, bird watching or simply to relax and enjoy the scenery and countryside of Upper Teesdale. It is also a fine touring centre for local attractions and amenities within Durham and the Yorkshire Dales. Teesdale is stunning all year round and Laneside is available to let throughout the seasons.

Laneside is one of the Raby Estate's self-catering holiday cottages situated in the totally unspoiled Upper Teesdale Raby Estate. The surrounding farm and moorland is within an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty in the North Pennines. The stunning panoramic views are dotted with small, whitewashed farmsteads, small herds of suckler cows and calves and flocks of hardy swaledale hill sheep. The Pennine Way is close by and High Cup Nick, which is a well known beauty spot on the Pennine Escarpment is within a day's walk. There is ample common land close by which is ideal for dog walking. There are many recommended walks from the very easy to the physically demanding. The Tourist Information Centres have up to date brochures on where to walk. Some are free and some are to buy. There are many local places of interest within easy reach including the traditional market town of Barnard Castle and Middleton-in-Teesdale, High Force Waterfall, Bowlees Visitor Centre, Gibson's Cave, Cauldron Snout, the magnificent Raby Castle and Bowes Museum. Durham City, the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, the Yorkshire Dales and many other places of historic and outstanding beauty are all within an hour and a half hours driving distance. Newcastle City Centre and the Metrocentre at Gateshead are also within traveling distance. Upper Teesdale is stunning all year round and this comfortable cottage is available to let throughout the seasons. This renovated, former farmhouse occupies an elevated position and enjoys breathtaking south-facing panoramic views.
