Langar Hall, Nottingham, Front of Hall

Set in the Vale of Belvoir, mid way between Nottingham and Grantham, Langar Hall is the family home of Imogen Skirving. It was built in 1837 on the site of a great historic house, the home of Admiral Lord Howe. It stands in quiet seclusion overlooking gardens, where sheep graze among the ancient trees in the park.Below the croquet lawn lies a romantic network of medieval fishponds stocked with carp. Epitomising excellence and diversity, Langar Hall combines the standards of good hotel keeping, with the hospitality and style of country house living. Having received a warm welcome, guests can enjoy the atmosphere of a private home that is much loved and cared for.

The en suite bedrooms are individually designed and comfortably appointed. The public rooms feature fine furnishings and most rooms afford beautiful views of the garden, park and moat. Langar Hall is an ideal venue for small boardroom meetings. It is also an ideal base from which to visit Belvoir Castle, to see cricket at Trent Bridge, to visit students at Nottingham University and to see Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. Dogs can be accommodated by arrangement.

This charming restaurant in the Vale of Belvoir stands in quiet seclusion beside the Early English village church overlooking gardens and sheep grazing amongst the ancient trees in the park. It is a favourite meeting place for locals who enjoy the scenery and the best value lunch in the area.
