Situated in a quiet location in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the village of Portesham nestling beneath the hill on which stands Hardy's Monument, dedicated to Masterman Thomas Hardy, Captain of Nelson's flagship HMS Victory. The house in which he lived is also in the village.

There is one double and one twin bedded room. Each room has colour TV, clock radio, wash basin and hospitality tray.

The bathroom is shared by these two rooms only and has bath, shower and bidet.

Dorchester is approximately 6 miles distance, and Weymouth is 7 miles. Abbotsbury, with its swannery and sup-tropical gardens, is a 5 minutes drive away. The area is a walkers paradise. The south-west coast path reveals the view above and continues on to Portesham and beyond. Readers of Thomas Hardy will find themselves surrounded byt the settings of his novels. Conveniently situated for Portland Sailing Academy and for diving.
