Leeds in West Yorkshire is a city and hub of excitement with over 500000 residents. Surprisingly for a city this far north and located in such an impressive environment it is also the largest Business and financial service centre outside of London and the largest Legal centre outside of London. No wonder then that Leeds is the fastest growing City in England.

Thanks to its perfect central location it is easy to go from Leeds to almost any location in the area. Inside Leeds there is a FREE bus service linking the station with the universities and the Infirmary. Outside of Leeds the buses operate quickly and frequently to all parts of Yorkshire and beyond. The train station is modern and one of the busiest outside of London. From here you can connect to almost every location in the UK or travel there directly.

This includes places like Bristol and Birmingham as well as London and Newcastle.

The roads are amazingly quiet and offer direct access to the M1 and M62 as well as other through roads. This makes it the hub for the Northern traffic in England.

Shopping here is easy in the heart of the city as Briggate, the main shopping street, is solely for pedestrians and Queen Victoria Street, which is part of the Victoria Quarter, has a glass roof.

Due to its unique demography there is something to do for everyone here. This includes going to St Anne's Cathedral as well as visiting the Sikh temple on Chapeltown Rd or even the Leeds Grant Mosque. The strange thing about Leeds is that it does not have a Church of England Cathedral. This is located in Ripon as that is part of the same Diocese. As mentioned before there is a large diversion in population and this can also be seen in the fact that there is a well established gay quarter as well as a vivid nightlife for the students of Leeds and its visitors. There are live music venues called The Cockpit and New Roscoe's, while there are many large "super-clubs" like Oceana (Leeds) and Discotheque as well as club Mission. If this is not your thing you can visit the cities attractions or go for a nice long and relaxing walk over the Leeds Country Way. This is a 100km walk around the city, which never leads you more than 10km from the city centre. The Ramblers' association has a wealth of booklets regarding walks in and around Leeds.
