Lowestoft that is located in Suffolk is a town that is located in the Suffolk country and is between the Suffolk Broads and the Lake Lothing where Lowestoft Harbour was established. Lowestoft is also the home of the most eastern point in the entire are of the United Kingdom as well as in the entire area of the British Isles.
Lowestoft is made up of four suburbs (boroughs) which are Pakefield, Gunton, Carlton Colville as well as Oulton Broad.
Lowestoft is famous for being the place where during the second half of the 18th century a factory of soft-paste porcelain was constructed, and some of its items still exist to this day which you can see in various museums around the United Kingdom, such as the museum that is located in the Nicholas Everett Park as well as the Castle Museum that is located in Norwich. The factory started experimenting way back in 1756 and only started advertising the products they made way back in 1760.
The Lowestoft porcelain factory has had three distinct phases, up to the factory's closure, way back in 1799. A part of that factory is still standing - most of it actually, and it now houses a company that produces brushes for different artists.
While visiting in Lowestoft you might want to visit the many different places that Lowestoft has to offer, which include the famous Ness Point which is the most easterly part of the entire United Kingdom area, and is located in a town that is close to a wind turbine, which you can also see. You can see the large compass that is located in the most easterly point, which gives viewers directions as to where other European countries are located.
While in Lowestoft you can also visit the town center which is a shopping district that consists of several roads with various shops, as well as the Britten Market square and a bus station to make it easier to get there or get back to your hotel from the market, with all your purchases - so you wouldn't need a car and get stuck in traffic or have trouble finding a parking space.
You can also visit the Seagull Theatre that is located in Pakefield as well, where you can watch various plays and other shows of interest. If you want to relax from all the running around you do in Lowestoft, you can go to the Sparrows Nest Gardens which has a nice view with a fountain in the middle of a pond that is located there, or you can instead visit the famous Belle Vue Park which houses a memorial for the Royal Naval Patrol Service in Gunton.
