We are situated 9 miles south west of Brecon.

Maeswalter is a 300 year old farmhouse situated in the mountainous Brecon Beacons National Park which divides naturally into three well-defined upland areas, the wild Black Mountains of the west, the gentler Black Mountains to the east and in the middle of South wales the highest peak, the Breacons themselves.

Separating these last two ranges is the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, 33 miles of scenic waterway, perfect for boating, fishing and easy towpath walks. We are surrounded by breath taking scenery, a haven for wildlife including the Red Kite, Siskins and the Red start, peace and quiet and an ideal place to unwind and relax in complete tranquility.

We offer comfortable bed and breakfast and a warm friendly welcome in this 17th century non-working farmhouse situated in the quiet and picturesque valley of Heol Senni 9 miles west of Brecon.

Heol Senni is a farmers hamlet of unspoilt natural beauty. The nearest bus service and shops are 4 ½ miles away at a small quiet market village of Sennybridge where there is a bus service to Brecon. Brecon is an old fashioned market town but has a good variety of shops.

Or visit the Canal centre at Llanfrynach (near Brecon) with canal museum and horse drawn boat trips.

Ornamental grounds match the ornate mansion at GRAIG-Y-NOS Country Park, near Abercraf.

For some of the best views in the Brecons, take a walk along Mynydd Illtyd common from the national park's popular mountain centre.

CARREG CENNEN CASTLE unquestionably one of the most spectacularly sited medieval fortresses in Wales, crowns a rocky outcrop in the foothills of the Black Mountain.

Directions from Brecon:

Take the A470 Merthyr Tydfil road after travelling 5 miles take the Defynnog turning to the right this brings you onto the A4215 sennybridge road - travel 2 ½ miles take the Heol Senni turning to the left - travel a further 11/2 miles and you will find Maeswalter on the right.

Maeswalter is marked on the ordanance survey maps 160 and 11 so we are in fact quite easy to find.
