LYME REGIS

Is an historic and unspoilt seaside resort situated in the most westerly point of Dorset. Famous for being the home of the film "The French Lieutenant's Woman". It is also renowned for its geology and many important fossils finds.

Blessed with stunning coastal and country views, it is the perfect base for walking or painting holidays. Lyme Regis has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it has also been confirmed as a World Heritage Site.

There is a wide range of fishing and boat trips available. There are fine sandy beaches perfect for the kids to while away the days. A picturesque fishing harbour featuring the historic Cobb and the pleasure gardens have superb views across Lyme Bay.

There is a host of guided tours including the lifeboat station, a ghost tour of the Cobb, the historic town tour, plus a guided tour of Lyme's Jurassic coast.

The town boasts an old-style cinema showing many of the newest releases.
The Marine theatre has a wide range of attractions including regular music events featuring many well known acts. There is an award winning museum plus several fossil exhibitions.

Special annual events include the Jazz Festival, Lifeboat Week (including a spectacular display by the Red Arrows), Regatta and Carnival Weeks.

LYME REGIS is the perfect base for touring the West Country with Poole, Swanage, Studland, Isle of Purbeck, Weymouth, Beer, West Bay, Axmouth, Axminster, Budleigh, Salterton, Exmouth and Exeter all being within easy reach.
