About Meadowcroft Hotel

Cambridge is a superb city, famous world wide for its historic buildings and its academic prowess through its many famous colleges.

Meadowcroft is a small, first class, privately owned hotel. It is managed in traditional manner and offers the highest standard of comfort and service in a tranquil atmosphere. It is set in beautiful grounds on Trumpington road, just one mile from the city centre. It is the first hotel en route from London and the M11. Here at Meadowcroft we aim to provide an intimate service with total privacy and comfort, and a quality that comes from attention to every detail.

The Victorian house has been renovated to the highest standard and the elegantly proportioned rooms have been carefully preserved while allowing the hotel to offer all modern conveniences. At Meadowcroft the furniture, finishes and fittings are all individual, from the exclusive English style interiors and antiques, to its original Victorian coving and fresh flowers. Meadowcroft is like a country house within the city with charming staff to cater for your every need.

The spacious lounge looks out onto the lovely garden and is the perfect place to relax quietly or just unwind with the morning papers, a pre-dinner drink or afternoon tea.The twelve bedrooms, each uniquely designed, each overlooking the hotel gardens are large, light and airy, with en-suite facilities. There is one twin-room and one double-room on the ground floor. All rooms contain satellite TV with remote control, hair dryer, direct-dial ISDN phone plus tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is open throughout the year and is ideally situated as a base from which to explore the many places of interest in and around Cambridge.

Mayfield and Bengal are both, four-poster suites, each with sofa
bed for optional use by families.

The hotel has plenty of parking space. There is an excellent conference room on the ground floor, which is quiet and overlooks the rear gardens. It will seat up to 18, boardroom style and up to 30-theatre style. Meadowcroft is not a 'conference hotel' but we can provide a quiet individual service for small meetings.A little haven for the business executive and a unique setting for your meeting. Use of office equipment can be arranged. This room may be used for half day or full day bookings. 24-hour conference facilities are also available and there is a private restaurant for business and social customers.

Guests may use the charming gardens and in the warmer months seating will be provided.A croquet set is provided for the use of guests.Meadowcroft is like a country house within the city with charming staff to cater for your every need.There are regular Buses to the town centre. On foot there is a pleasant path through Coe Fen that takes approximately 20 minutes.Buses: Hourly departures to Stansted (20 miles), Gatwick and Heathrow airports.The city has regular tourist buses in which to visit the main sites of historic Cambridge or you may go to the picturesque village of Grantchester - where Lord Byron lodged whilst a student at Cambridge.

The spacious lounge overlooking the gardens boasts an original fireplace and roaring fire in wintertime. It retains a delightful wood panelled fire surround with the carved motto 'Stand Sure' dating from the original family, the Boileau Canes. How to find us

By Road: Leave the M11 motorway at junction 11. Follow the A10 towards the city centre for approximately 2.75 miles. Meadowcroft is on the right.

By Rail: Cambridge Railway station (1 mile). Direct trains to London take 50 minutes.

By Coach: Hourly departures to Stanstead, Gatwick and Heathrow airports

By air: Stanstead Airport (20 miles).
