The cottage was built in the 17th century for the coachman of the adjacent Mergate Hall. Although extended and modernised it retains its great charm and has picturesque and historic surroundings.
It is ideally situated for Lotus Cars, the newly established Hethel Engineering Centre and the many other businesses that thrive around Wymondham, Mulbarton and Bracon Ash.
For those on a short leisure break, historic Norwich with its big city amenities is just 7 miles, Snetterton motor racing circuit is 30 minutes away and the Tas Valley Walk passes less than 100 metres from the front door. Several other footpaths give access to unspoiled countryside and picturesque local villages.
The Cottage Suite is contained within a private wing of the building with a double bedroom, adjacent large bathroom and private sitting room on the first floor. All the rooms are freshly decorated and well equipped to form a comfortable private suite. An additional large double bedroom is available to members of the same party willing to share the bathroom and sitting room.
Breakfast of your choice is served in the downstairs dining room or conservatory and in the summer months may be taken in a sheltered and secluded garden.
It is regretted that the restricted access afforded by the narrow staircases of this old cottage may render it unsuitable for guests with impaired mobility and we can not cater for pets or for children under 10.

Directions
Seven miles south of Norwich on the A140/B1113.
Pass through Mulbarton, past Bracon Ash with its Village Hall on the left. At a sharp right hand bend marked by luminous arrows turn left and left again immediately into Mergate Lane. Mergate Cottage is the 2nd pink painted one on the right hand side.
