Originally a Coaching Inn, and as its name implies, was the middle one of three 'Holly' public houses within ¾ mile of each other on the then main road.
It was part of the main route north into Scotland, but with the improvement of the A6 and building of the M6, it now has a quiet, peaceful, countryside look.
1990, the cottage was re-designed and refurbished from a working farm to provide superior Bed & Breakfast accommodation for tourist and business people alike. |

Facilities available
Middle Holly Cottage has six bedrooms, all en-suite, with a high standard of linen and furnishings. All rooms have colour television, refreshment facilities, telephones and radio alarm clocks, Children welcome. There is a large car park at the rear of the cottage. We are open all year round.

Locality
A short distance from the cottage are two superb Restaurants, a Pub, a Bar Tavern and a Little Chef, all serving high quality food and reasonably priced meals.
Lancaster University is only 5 minutes drive away, making it very accessible for parents to visit the students and also, visiting academics from UK and abroad.
Lancaster is a very historic city, owned by Her Majesty the Queen, as the Duke of Lancaster.
There are guided tours of Lancaster Castle in March/Dec, where you can see the Dungeons, with the 'Drop Room' and the 'Hanging Corner'. Also the courts from where convicts were transported to Australia.
Narrow boats can be hired on the Lancaster Canal, or take a leisurely sail on a guided tour.
Enjoy the market town of Garstang with its weekly market.
There are two Golf Courses within 15 minutes drive.
Explore the beautiful forest of Bowland and Lune Valley.
Visit the picturesque villages of Settle, Kirby Longsdale, Ingleton Falls and the railway at Carnforth, where the station was used in the 1945 film 'Brief Encounter'.
Within 30 Minutes drive North, is the beautiful Lake District and South West, the busy seaside town of Blackpool. |
